WOO HOO! Welcome back! I am so excited for my blog's new look. I know i have not posted anything in ohhhh, about a year! BUTTTT things have been crazy since my last blog post and I am prepared to post about a lot of it (wedding details, traveling, etc).

Today's blog post is about my most recent home decor dilemma, I am getting a new living room couch! When my HUSBAND (woooahhhh) and I moved in our house in July, 2015, we obviously did not purchase all new furniture to fill it because we were saving for our wedding. (WORTH EVERY DIME!) So we decided to invest in a new king bed and furniture set for our master bedroom at that time and that was it. Everything else for the most part, was from our previous apartment.
We have a front sitting room that is nicely decorated already. It is one of my favorite rooms. It has pretty tan couched and a restoration coffee table and end table. The coffee table has those restoration wheels on it, it is prefect! The feel in that room, that is starting to feel like a trend for all the rooms in my house, is that it is restoration with a sort of elegant charm. So you have the distressed wood look in the tables with a pop of pretty elegance with the candle pieces, flower printed pillows and light turquoise color. See photo below, sorry it was taken at night!
Anyways, so I love that front sitting room and my family room has a black leather couch that was our first piece of furniture we ever purchased together. It has done its job for us for about 4 years and now I want to replace it. I have a pretty white fireplace in the room with a nicely decorated mantle. The mantle has a canvas photo of us, with a mirror, flower vase and clock. You can see in the photo below some of those mantle details. Our TV is on another distressed wood furniture piece and I want to replace the black couch to complete the entire look. We have an open floor plan so most of the time, this new couch will be front and center.
THAT BEING SAID, here are my ideas.
IVORY IVORY IVORY.
I love IVORY everything.
I am looking at a couple but i need to know that style you guys like best...
1. Couch and chaise lounge
This couch is smaller in length but you add the separate chaise lounge. I have sat on this couch. It is comfy and it is fairly deep, but not super deep.
.OR.
2. Couch with chaise attached, one piece total.
This couch in this photo is stark white. I would probably get more of an ivory because this is like wayyyy white. But this is showing how it is one piece instead of the pieces being separate in the first one. The thing to think about here is that i want a big oversized coffee table and with that chaise being on one side like that, the coffee table could not be centered with the couch. This couch is from Restoration Hardware and it can be made is multiple depth measurements.
LABOR DALE SALES are coming up so I am probably going to purchase something this week.
Let me know which style you guys like best. These may not be the exact couches but i am debating on the style in these photos.
